Route Information
The race starts on the Felling By-Pass, near the Gateshead International Stadium’s Event Village. It’s a half marathon, timed by chip, on a road no one else will be using.
You’ll run along the River Tyne and pass various landmarks: the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, Sage Gateshead, the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Arts, the Tyne Bridge, and the Swing Bridge.
At the halfway point, you’ll turn around to see all these landmarks again, but from the opposite direction.
The race finishes with a lap around the track of the Gateshead International Stadium, where your family and friends will probably be making a lot of noise.
This track has seen two world records. The course is completely closed off and has been measured professionally, so just focus on running and maybe enjoy the scenery.
